Vacation arrives like an oasis unto a desert;
It is my most needed release.
Fireworks illuminating starry summer skies;
Popsicles colouring the tongues of children
a vibrant red, blue, and green.
What a beguiling sight,
To watch the firecrackers take flight.
What a buoyant day,
Full of hopeful children beaming with light.
My mouth relishes the delectable
peach tastes and mango tangs;
How I wish summer lasted forever.
My sweet release is coming to a close,
And soon come all my worries and woes.

Speechless
My cheek rests
upon your shoulder
My lips whisper
your name
My eyes light up
when I hear you say:
"Do you like me?"
Thousands of words
to say
Millions more
ways to say them.
My lips burn with
anticipation.
I love you, is no
longer enough.
For my love
extends over bridges,
My love crosses
oceans,
My love reaches
to the tips of mountains,
And my love runs
to places that I'll never go,
But at least, for now,
we share the sky
that covers the space
between us
"Do you like me?"
Your voice echoes through me
Imitating my pulse
Thousands of words
to say
Millions more
ways to say them.
"I love you."
upon your shoulder
My lips whisper
your name
My eyes light up
when I hear you say:
"Do you like me?"
Thousands of words
to say
Millions more
ways to say them.
My lips burn with
anticipation.
I love you, is no

For my love

My love crosses

My love reaches

And my love runs

"Do you like me?"
Your voice echoes through me
Imitating my pulse

Day and Night
Day
after lusty day
the mountains yearn
the raindrops mourn
How you loved the smell
right after the rain
The sunlight pelts
these rolling hills
with a tranquil peace
I can no longer
relate with
Night
after lonesome night
I wait for a sign,
a message,
a sound.
My sleep
startles me awake
My breathing makes it hard
for me to breathe
My eyes make it hard
for me to see
And I am alone in
the moonlight
With a heart brimming with memories
And eyes brimming with tears
after lusty day
the mountains yearn
the raindrops mourn
How you loved the smell
right after the rain
The sunlight pelts
these rolling hills
with a tranquil peace
I can no longer
relate with
Night
after lonesome night
I wait for a sign,
a message,
a sound.
My sleep
startles me awake
My breathing makes it hard
for me to breathe
My eyes make it hard
for me to see
And I am alone in
the moonlight
With a heart brimming with memories
And eyes brimming with tears

To dream
I dreamt of who I could be;
I dreamt of what was to come.
Oh, all those petty childhood dreams
Back when I thought I could be anyone
See childhood taught me from the start,
You can do whatever you want with your heart.
But I could not revive people with my tears;
And that was all
I'd ever feared.
I dreamt all the movies were real;
I dreamt broken hearts would always heal.
I dreamt I could love and never get hurt;
I dreamt I would always win when I did the work.
But in a few years,
I would get older,
And so then my heart
would slowly grow colder
Oh, all those petty childhood dreams
Were maybe not so hopeful
as they once seemed.
I dreamt of what was to come.
Oh, all those petty childhood dreams
Back when I thought I could be anyone
See childhood taught me from the start,
You can do whatever you want with your heart.
But I could not revive people with my tears;
And that was all
I'd ever feared.
I dreamt all the movies were real;
I dreamt broken hearts would always heal.
I dreamt I could love and never get hurt;
I dreamt I would always win when I did the work.
But in a few years,
I would get older,
And so then my heart
would slowly grow colder
Oh, all those petty childhood dreams
Were maybe not so hopeful
as they once seemed.
